For over a century, Rimowa has accompanied travelers across continents, cultures, milestones, and memories. While its aluminum shell is built to endure, every dent, scratch, and mark becomes a silent witness to the journeys it has experienced.
Every Scratch Holds a Story reimagines the Rimowa showroom as a museum of memories. Rather than presenting luggage as products, the exhibition transforms each suitcase into a living archive, revealing the personal stories hidden behind years of travel.
Each showcase represents a different chapter of life. Alongside every suitcase, visitors encounter photographs, destinations, travel records, and personal reflections that reveal how places shape people over time.
At the heart of the space, a monumental world map traces the interconnected paths of these journeys, visualizing not only the distance traveled but also the emotional footprints left behind. The exhibition invites visitors to look beyond the object itself and consider the experiences, encounters, and memories carried within it.
Through a minimalist and immersive environment, the project explores a simple idea:
